World’s Largest Artichoke

We stumbled across this beauty during our wanderings near Monterey. Made of concrete and rebar, it nestles against the Giant Artichoke Restaurant. Castroville, the Artichoke Capital of the World, is also where Marilyn Monroe, then known as Norma Jean, reigned as the Artichoke Queen in 1947.
